So when is Eid ul Adha in Dubai?
The first day of Eid ul Adha in Dubai has been announced to fall on Friday, 1st September 2017.
The day of Arafat, will fall on Thursday, 31st August 2017.
What is Eid ul Adha about?
It translates to be the “Feast of Sacrifice” and is observed on the 10th day of the Islamic calendar month of Dhu Al Hijja, which is according to the Hijri calendar.
What is its significance?
The celebration marks to be the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to accept the command of Allah and to sacrifice his dearest son: Ismail.
What is done in Eid ul Adha?
Muslims generally prepare themselves for the morning Fajr prayer. Eid prayers are performed when the sun is completely risen up and all Muslims start to chirp a prayer which says “Labaik Allah Huma Labaik”.
To commemorate Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail, all Muslims sacrifice an animal which is usually a goat, sheep, camel or a cow. The meat is then said to be divided into 3 parts – one for the family, one for friends or relatives and the last part is given to the poor and needy.
Eid ul Adha marks to be an important time for people to involve themselves in the act of giving or charity and those who can afford it need to make sure they help the less fortunate.
When are the public holidays announced?
Private sectors are to be off work from Thursday, 31st August 2017 to Saturday, 2nd September 2017. Work is said to resume from Sunday, 3rd September 2017.
What are the metro timings and parking schedules?
Dubai gives us enough reasons to enjoy our holidays, isn’t it? So following the tradition, we have more to enjoy our Eid ul Adha 2017 holidays. How?
RTA has announced that all parking spaces, except multi-level parking spaces are free from Thursday, 31st August 2017 until Sunday, 3rd September. The normal parking fees will resume from Monday, 4th September 2017.
