Under the new amnesty scheme, Pakistanis will be issued free out passes and in some cases, their passport validity will also be extended completely free of cost for a period of seven months.
The amnesty scheme as beginning from the 1st August until 31st of October 2018 under the
“Protect yourself by modifying your status”.
Sources have also revealed that the Pakistani Embassy and Consulate in Dubai will be supporting all illegal Pakistanis under this initiative by providing them the out passes and passport extensions, all for free.
The National Database and Registration Authority will also support people who are availing the scheme and manage everything for people who even have some of their documents missing.

However, you can directly approach Tabeer Tourism offices regarding any questions about the amnesty. There are FREE consultation sessions that will be held from 10 am to 7 pm, every day in Dubai and Abu Dhabi branches.
As per the UAE government, this 3 months scheme focuses on granting a grace period for foreign violators who are looking forward to either exit back to their home country without any legal prosecutions or rectify their status of residency by just paying a fee of Dhs 500.
Any overstaying expat with a residence visa that has expired any time before the 31st of July 2018 will be available to benefit out of the scheme without any penalties, even if they are from an absconding case. The case will also be cleared without any involvement of the employer. In any case, if the absconding has been filed in any other Emirates, then the same must be cleared in that particular Emirate only.
Amnesty scheme will not be profitable for any criminal cases or blacklisted residents. All these cases need to be cleared by the individual before making use of the amnesty.
According to sources, around 1.2 million Pakistanis are currently residing in the UAE. Until now, it is not clear on how many people would be expected to turn up for availing the amnesty.
