Holiday Destinations in the UAE

We all know what is Dubai all about, but, it’s time we get to know the rest of the Emirates a bit closely. Each of the Emirate has its own characteristics, unique landmarks, and personality. So, here’s your chance to get to know the marvelous country of UAE!

Dubai is like the over-achieving child that prevents his parents from recognizing all the good things the rest of his siblings are accomplishing. We all know that Dubai is a destination within itself, so let’s take a minute to appreciate some of the other 6 Emirates.

Abu Dhabi – The Capital City

Ferrari World

You might have heard of this one? Huge Ferrari themed park, fastest rollercoaster in the world, 3D rides and documentaries? You will love even if you’re not exactly a car enthusiast. Located in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, and is not very difficult to spot.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

This mosque is a must-see! Its huge in size and it combines modern architecture designs, and prehistoric craftsmanship, in the most beautiful way. The mosque will amaze you with the amount of gold, marble and glass art involved in its making.

Sharjah – Capital of Islamic Culture

 Sharjah Arts Museum

This arts museum is one of the country’s most recognized ones, and not only because it holds a huge variety of art by both Arabic and foreign artists. Also for the many exhibitions and film screenings that it launches frequently. Yes, Sharjah knows how to keep things interesting.

Quick note: You can also find archeology, Islamic civilization, and science museums in Sharjah.

Central Market

One of the most famous and oldest landmarks in UAE. Two parallel two-story buildings, with 2 bridges connecting them. You can buy, literally, anything there. As in, snacks, video games, electronic devices, clothes, and souvenirs. It is mostly known, however, for its gold shops (one building is filled with them). Go dazzle your eyes.

 Sharjah/Ajman Border

 Wasit Nature Reserve

The almost 5 sq. km piece of land was declared as a natural reserve in 2007, as it has been used as a garbage dump before that. As habitat for almost 150 bird species and other animals. Nothing competes with this.

Ras Al Khaimah – High mountains and beautiful Valleys

 Jebel Jais

Jebel means mountain, and it is the highest within UAE, and its peak can be reached by hike or by drive. Spectacular view, nice breeze, bon fires, delicious BBQ, and good company. The break you need from the city.
