UAE amnesty extended until December 2018

UAE expats wake up to the news of Amnesty 2018 to be extended until 1st of December 2018.

The UAE government along with the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship has announced an extension for the amnesty program which was scheduled to be wrapped on 31st of October 2018.

The scheme which began on August 1st, has now been given an extension for the sake of all amnesty seekers, providing them an extra month to avail the amnesty. However, the decision to extend the amnesty has come in as a great assistance to all the expats living in the UAE who are yet to legalize their status.

Amnesty seekers are encouraged to regularize their residency status to stay within the country or exit the country without facing any penalties or fines or receiving any bans before the end of the year of 2018. Post this extension, no regularization of the legal status shall be provided.

In particular, there are nine amnesty centers all across the country who will still be legalizing the residency statuses of ANY illegal UAE resident. The extended visa period provided to the amnesty seekers will also permit the violators to apply for a self-sponsorship for six months to look for a job opportunity or seek a sponsorship from other employers.

The authorities had also pronounced earlier that any violator seeking the amnesty will also be eligible for an exit pass and can return back to the country without any country-ban as such. Even those who have fled from their former sponsors can leave UAE without any ban or jail penalties. However, illegal residents who have entered the country through unauthorized ports can re-enter the country only after serving a 2 years ban.

This initiative as taken by the government of the United Arab Emirates aims at making the “Emirates free from violators” urging them to avail the amnesty and rectify their status to further continue residing in the country.

Due to the greater demand of amnesty seekers as announced by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs in Dubai, the scheme was extended. The directorate also announced issuing around 25,000 new sponsor visas and renewing 2,900 residences during the initial months of the amnesty and are still increasing.

Any illegal resident or violator living in the UAE can consider this as a “golden opportunity” to rectify their legal status in the country without serving hefty penalties and bans as encouraged by the UAE government authorities. You can now “Protect Yourself via Rectifying Your Status”.

Violators are invited to utilize the FREE PRO consultancy by either visiting any of the nearest Tabeer Tourism branches or through their toll-free number (800 822337) for any kind of assistance required. The company has also expanded it’s reach to residents living in Sharjah and Al Ain with it’s two new branches.
